Remembering Mr. Rogers

Thursday, March 20, would have been Fred Rogers’ 80th birthday. I think Mr. Rogers was a national treasure. So, when I heard about this event set for March 20, asking everyone to wear a favorite sweater that day in honor of Mr. Rogers, I had to share it:

Key quote from David Newell, who played Mr. McFeely:

“I have a speedy delivery for all of our neighbors around the world, from Pittsburgh to Paris. We’re inviting children and grownups to … join me in wearing a sweater in honor of everyone’s favorite neighbor, Mr. Rogers. It doesn’t have to have a zipper down the front like the one Mr. Rogers used to wear, it just needs to be special to you.”

They’re asking that photos or videos of participants be to be sent to Family Communications, Inc., the nonprofit organization that Rogers established.
