Celebrate this sunset

Unlike the ‘Heavenly’ rose that came with the house when we bought it, I chose these ‘Sunset Celebration’ roses. This rose was originally called Fryxotic but was renamed in honor of Sunset magazine’s 100th anniversary.

I have two of these hybrid tea roses. I love the color, the fragrance, and the fact that they thrive under my less-than-masterful rose gardening skills. I never spray them, just remove the spent blossoms and cut the bushes back severely each winter.

This is one of the first blooms of this year. Many more to come, for many months. What’s not to celebrate?
