This CNN headline caught my eye:

French court convicts Church of Scientology of fraud

Turns out the fraud conviction stems from the church’s use of a device called an electropsychometer, or E-Meter. Scientologists claim that it can “locate areas of spiritual duress or travail so they can be addressed and handled.”

Ah, it warms my heart to see at least one religion being subjected to rational criticism, but Scientology is a fringe religion at best, celebrity recruits not withstanding. I’ll be really impressed when France applies the same standards to the Catholic Church.
